Grayson's Art Club
"Appointment television is back and it's a bona fide masterpiece. In the midst of lockdown, a quirky Channel 4 series has brought the nation together and served up not just creativity but a slice of British life like no other." The Telegraph
"Grayson's Art Club might be just what some of us need to turn the telly off and pick up a paint brush. It communicates a simple message we might have forgotten: creativity is in us all, and it's good for our minds and spirits." The Independent
"Praise the Lord and pass the clay and canvas that Channel 4 have found enough in the coffers to commission Grayson Perry for another series of Grayson’s Art Club." The Guardian (Five stars)
"The best piece of telly that we have put on in the last three or four years." (Ian Katz, Channel 4’s Director of Programmes, as quoted in iNews)
For three series and multiple special episodes, Grayson and Philippa Perry have invited viewers to join their award-winning Art Club. Full to the brim of celebrity guests from Joe Lycett to Boy George, world-renowned artists such as Sir Antony Gormley, Banksy and Cornelia Parker, and public participants from all over the UK, every week Grayson hosts the show from his pottery studio, taking the country with him as he creates brand new art works.
Every episode, Grayson chooses a different theme and asks the public to send in their art, unleashing a wave of creativity, and revealing moving, funny and profound stories. And at the end of every season, the art that Grayson selects features in a major exhibition. For series one, Manchester Art Gallery hosted a sell-out show. For series two, Art Club came to Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, and for series three, Midlands Art Centre will bring Art Club to the West Midlands.
